Because that is how social media companies make money.

They keep you stuck.

Why do you think TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, they send out multiple notifications and every single day, things that don't even matter.

Every single time you open the app, they are getting paid.

Every single extra minute in scroll that you are scrolling on this app, they are making more money off of you.

Things used to be chronological.

It used to be random.

The explore page actually did used to be for exploring and it would show you other people's accounts.

I'm glad that I'm getting content that I like, but they're doing that because they don't want you to see new stuff.

They want to show you stuff that they know you like, and they want to give you more of what they've already seen keeps you scrolling.
