Now it's in order of what it thinks will be most relevant to you, on what it thinks will connect you to scrolling more and exploring more on the app.
Of course they do that.
Of course they do.
You're getting unbiased news, unbiased posts, filtered perspectives.
It's like a kid in a candy store, right?
You're looking and it's just your dream come true.
And they know that.
Whatever is your fantasy, your dream, they are putting that on your screens to make you feel some sort of way, to spark some emotion within you that will keep the finger scrolling.
Not to be dramatic, but it's almost like how the stereotype goes of kidnappers in their vans luring kids in with an ice cream truck or saying, hey kids, I have candy, you want some?
It's literally that.
Social media and your algorithm is the ice cream truck
And you are going to walk up and you are going to fall for it and you're going to be looking at all your favorite flavors of ice cream, right?
It's not just any ice cream truck.
It's an ice cream truck of all your favorite flavors and colors and your favorite music is coming out of the truck.
it's game over, you're done, you're kidnapped, and it's got you, you're not getting out.
And if you don't believe me, when creating this process, tech companies specifically studied human psychology and behavior so that they could figure out how to make technology addictive.
It was intentional.
And I don't know about you guys, but for me, that actually does help me.
Like, knowing that it's not just an accident.
