So going back to BGR, so when did you first go on to actually full race engineer on a car?
What were your, did you have some good moments with Nick?
What were your highlights during that?
You won a fair few, or you won a couple races.
We're actually going to get to this later, but we might actually bring it up now.
We've actually got a submission from one of your drivers about your self-criticism.
So we're going to play it and see what they had to say.
Like Shane's, I guess we probably all know Shane's biggest advantage was the tyre.
Was that just like the thing that amazed you?
Was it just the whole package or was it?
It's a hard thing to see because when I switched across from Erebus over, like you say, like we try going through data and that, but it is hard to see in the data.
Like I was lucky enough to move across the year after obviously finished and have all access to that.
And that's something we worked on massively over that off season was trying to, because I don't think at Erebus, like a couple of times I had
quite good races with tyre life like townsville the year before we we won and even on the old car at sydney but we weren't like we couldn't do what shane was doing in any way so i remember looking at all that but footage was the only way like watching his own board trying to watch footage like the data you just couldn't see it and then the footage it's still hard but you could kind of tell what he was doing so that was such a big thing for us
at the start of 24, to try and make sure our tyre life was good and try and understand, but also get yourself in a mindset to try and do what he was doing, because it's not easy.
