um i feel like there's a lot you're probably putting on like as in he definitely did that he's very good but there's a lot in the setup of the car but like you say he's probably good at how he said it like it's like our 24 year we probably were able to do that which won us the championship that year but probably heaps in the setup of the car to be able to manage that like
Right now, you'd probably say that's something that me and Andrew are working on now.
You want to get back to what you did on 24.
Like even last year at Sandown and that, you qualified 16th, 17th and drive up and nearly win the race.
Still doing the same thing now, but we've got to get to that level.
And like you say, the biggest thing is probably Shane's advantage of being able to read the car.
and read what he needs exactly out of it because how many times do you think you're edgy in or you think you've got understeer mid-corner but it's because you're edgy in or something like that.
Sometimes you can lead the engineer down a garden path or whatever it is because...
you're actually trying to feel, you're feeling the wrong thing really at the end of the day or giving the wrong feedback.
And then you look back and you're like, fuck, I could have done a lot better job when you were thinking about it.
And last but not least, and a great supporter of mine and sponsor of the podcast is KMC Wheels, which is Wheel Pros Australia.
They're home to brands like Fuel Off-Road, KMC, Rotiform, and American Racing.
I have a brand new set of KMC Crux on my Ford Raptor, which I think absolutely top it off.
But I'm also looking at organizing some of the American Racing wheels for my Skyline, which I think will be awesome.
I think as well like we touch on a lot behind is that the competitive level competitiveness level these days is so high right now that you have to do every one percenter like in 2024 I was quite lucky that you know like we were super dedicated like everything was dedicated about it but like the training level physical side of it all of that probably wasn't as high and like some people might say you don't need that but I feel like the one percenters now like what you've got to do to try and we go over this but like
I probably relied on talent for a lot of my life, you know what I mean?
Like as in like I was quite lucky, won a lot of junior categories and all that, stepped in, Erebus was great, won the championship.
But now everyone's got the same gear and we've got a lot of good drivers in the category right now.
So you've got to do β and that's probably something that we, luckily enough in the field, I would say Brock's the guy to look at right now after last year and even this year what he's doing right now when we're probably not β
