The paramedics are like just chirpy, like chirping away at each other, like two fun time, good time school girls.
Like, oh, my God, do you see that guy?
Oh, my God, the valley was crazy last night.
And one kept going, I've got a nephew.
Yeah, he's cute.
He's not as cute as your boy though.
And I was like, this is so patronising.
He's just ignoring that he's completely out.
I bet your nephew wakes up.
So I just was in silence.
I was going through.
There's no sirens.
Nothing felt like anything was an emergency to anyone.
And I'm at the lights in this ambulance with my tiny โ
son that would not move and I'm looking at the cars next to me and I'm thinking, God, I wonder how many times I've pulled up at the lights next to an ambulance with no lights on and known that there was like a broken baby and a devastated mum just sitting just centimetres away from me.
And the paramedic goes, oh.
