They say that she preaches selfishness, which I...

if you take a linear perspective and you try to force it upon her holistic understanding of things then you can sit there and say that she's preaching selfishness but she's really not she's really preaching symbiosis in relationships that are sustainable so she simply says that whether it's a personal relationship a business relationship whether it's government to individual individual to government it doesn't matter if there is something that is being taken there is something that should be given back

And ultimately, that is how you eliminate waste.

That is how you eliminate enabling people is ultimately what it comes down to.

And so I'll be honest with you.

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

Before that, I actually believed in some government regulation.

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

I believed in capitalism, but I believed in government regulation to ultimately prevent corruption.

Well, in that book, and I don't want to ruin it for people because it's really just a fucking unbelievable book, but she has the class of the producers and she has the class of the moochers.

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

And the producers are the people that are going out there being innovative, the ones that are really moving society forward.

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

And as a result, they get to profit from that.

And then you have the moochers, and the moochers are the ones that preach social justice, preach disparity, preach unfairness, et cetera, et cetera, this, that, and the other.

And they...

create government regulation to go out there and essentially tax the producers is what it comes down to.

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

And then what happens is it's not as if what they're taxing the producers ends up truly helping society.

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

It just ends up in the pockets of the moochers.

Digital Social Hour

They're ultimately corrupt.

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

And so she's using the Socratic method

Digital Social Hour
Erik Huberman vs. Bryan Calcott: Should the Government Protect You From Yourself? | DSH #1753

she tells an amazing story it's like unbelievably deep like you know rich characters but she's using the socratic method to say okay here's what you believe let's follow to its logical conclusions and so she says this is what would happen if all the producers stopped producing and let the moochers you know what i mean have their way and they would ultimately drive society you know what i mean down down into the ground is is what it you know what it comes down to so that's part of the reason why i don't um excuse me i believe you know
