I think defence always takes a while to build into it in terms of fine margins.

But the crispness of passing.

I don't know if you remember, there was a time when our Black Fern 7s went from good to watch to, oh my God, you can't miss this.

The crispness, the sharp.

And Maya Joseph was...

to set up a try was just really nice.

Five minutes out, she already scored two tries.

Previous seasons, that would have just been a tuck and go and I'll try to get a third, but it was just quick hands, boom, face ball across another player, punch through a hole, try time.

So it was the attacking flair was, you know, easy to say it was flair, but it was actually just the basics done really well.

But even the advanced tactics, like that first try, it could have been Sam not scoring the week before.

The overthrow inside ball with Joseph, it was crisp.

Round one too, you'd expect a high error count, but it was nowhere near.

And I think that full-time, much longer pre-season games has certainly paid dividends.

She can punch a hole, that's for sure.

Yeah, she's got that, but she's got that sevens physique about her.

I know she's playing up inside, but I mean like sevens, like she's got the pace, she's got the punch, but she's actually got, you know, I sort of compare her, I just try to think of players that I've played with, but like,

you know, like an Augustine puller or a Milani Nanai power, like they're so small, but they've got that power in the collision area that sort of catches people off guard, but then also smart to hit holes versus the crash and bash, you know, and then defensively was on point too.

So I think she's definitely, mind you, Tukuafu was pretty strong as well.
