And if you put him on a team with a lot of depth on defensemen and you don't expect him to be that 1A defenseman because he's not that anymore.
He's flat out not that, and I'm sure Morgan would tell you himself.
He's not a 1A defenseman in the NHL right now.
So if you put him in a supportive role where he's just a piece of the puzzle, I bet you he would flourish.
The difficulty, and it's the same thing in any contract that's being moved in the NHL right now, is there's a lot of money attached to Mo.
I believe there's, what, three or four years at seven and change?
Mm-hmm.
Like, you're talking about a lot of money that's got to move with him.
It's not just the player, and it's not just assets coming back.
You've got to look at the value, and that's going to be the tricky part to any kind of transaction with him.
Who's going to absorb that?
How much are they going to absorb?
And how are you going to make it work?
Because it's not just Morgan Raleigh, the guy that wears 44 and that can take a good wrister and can fly up the ice at times.
It's a big ticket that goes along with him.
And, Jamie, maybe it could be a different situation, but if you look in Carolina, Morgan Riley's older than Shane Gostaspierre, I believe.
But you look at Gostaspierre, he started in Philadelphia, then he bounced around a little bit, and it was like the left-handed shot skill guy.
Maybe he could become some kind of version of that for a different organization where he lands somewhere and he finds a different, you know, just a different lease on life and a different organization and things turn around and it's different for him.
He just needs to freshen it up for himself.
for his career, for himself.
