So if they've heard from him, they must know something that, OK, he's willing to take a shorter term deal for more money.
Right.
If Boris or whoever his agent said was like, listen, he's not accepting anything less than seven or eight years.
You've got to imagine that they wouldn't have even put an offer on the table.
So the fact that they're offering him $50 million for a short-term deal means that he's interested, right?
Theoretically, it means that he's interested.
And my point is, if he's interested in a short-term deal for a lot of money, you cannot be outbid by the Dodgers or the Blue Jays on a short-term deal.
If he wants long-term, then I understand Stern's going, nope, too long.
But if he signs for four or five years with the Dodgers...
