I was too panicked to think. I sat where I was and was trying to handle the situation at the dinner table, which was not a good move. But my girlfriend's mother came around ready to perform the Heimlich maneuver on me. She didn't do it. And I don't know how she would have to begin with. She's five foot and I'm six two. So it's a little bit of a height differential.

There actually was some concern, thankfully, that I was okay. I didn't feel okay. I was utterly just mortified and embarrassed about what had happened. But they did their best to console me and make sure I knew that everything's okay. Just start again. So I do.
