He's signed both a hooker and a tight head prop in Marinus van der Merwe and Jack Ainger.
I can't remember the last time Munster made two signings of that standard in the front row in the same year.
It's a long, long time.
Yes, he's losing Sean Klain, the South African international, Niall Scanlon, John Ryan, and players of the sort.
But I think he has spotted what he needs from this team.
He's very well liked in camp when there was kind of talk of, oh, will he leave?
Won't he leave?
seemingly there was a massive player push of like we need to tell this guy that we do rate him we do want him to stay i'm not sure which players led it um i do think maybe someone like craig casey would be likely to be front and center of that because he is a kind of emotional voice of monster rugby but i think mcmillan is is finding his feet and yes it was a little bit unstable but was monster squad this year weaker than what it was last year probably
Maybe even next year the same.
That's the only thing I will say.
But I think from a kind of cultural standpoint, I think Macmillan is spotting things and he's working well.
And I think, to give him his credit, one of the people that he brought north was Brad Mayo.
And I think he's the big winner of Munster's season.
Munster had severe S&C problems in terms of long-term injuries and short-term injuries at the wrong time in recent years.
Since Brad Mayo came up, yes, they've had injuries at the back end of the season.
but that always happens.
It's the back end of the season.
It does, especially when you're a team like Munster and you can't really rotate for games because you don't have the depth to the same degree.
I think he's been brilliant.
He's very well liked.
