Lord God, we know your scripture says that the Holy Spirit is our teacher.

Please be our powerful teacher today.

In your name we pray.

All right, friends, we're looking at the Gospel of Luke, chapter 24, verses 44 through 45, as we continue this series, Mind War.

Now here, Jesus is speaking to some of his disciples after he has risen from the grave.

So think about this.

The resurrected Jesus is walking around with his disciples.

Man, don't you think they were like sponges?

They were recognizing the power and the awesomeness of who he is, and they're listening intently.

Here in verse 44, it says, Then he said to them, These are my words that I spoke to you when I was still with you.

that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.

Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures.

So you understand what he's saying.

Jesus is recalling for them things he had said when he was with them before he died, before he rose.

And he's saying, I told you about all these things previously, but now let me give you an in-depth Bible study.

about where the Old Testament speaks about me.

And so he looks at the Law of Moses, which is the first five books of the Old Testament.

He looks at the prophets, many of the other writings.

He looks at the Psalms, and he shows them the ways that the prophecies in those books were fulfilled in him.

And as he's doing this, verse 45 says, he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
