And there's two considerations around that as well.
Stability in your list and making sure you've got the key players you want.
Also, there's the threat of Tasmania coming on board.
One, you're going to have draft compromises for a couple of years.
So you want your list in the strongest position you can be.
And secondly, they're going to have a big war chest to go after players.
So you need your players happy, secure, locked in if possible.
And that's what that process we're going through with a handful of players at the moment.
Well, I think from all the feedback I get, all the players are really comfortable and happy in their environment.
And Ross and the footy department have built a great environment for those players to thrive.
um yeah if someone comes and offers them 10 million dollars more than we can yeah you know you can't always guarantee you're going to be able to keep people because there's some big money being thrown around um and we're probably saying that with some of the other clubs at the moment and the concerns of losing quality players just because there's a lot of money floating around the competition so you know players as loyal as they will be and as comfortable as they will be you're always going to have some that will
you know, just get offers they can't refuse.
So we understand that, but hopefully we can retain everyone we want.
Well, I think it's great, isn't it, when you can have that rivalry between
in the competition, you know, when players move, when you've got history between clubs.
It just adds to the spice of the game.
So I love that in AFL.
You know, I think, you know, Carlton's had a tough time and obviously there's things happening at the moment.
So you also want to have it as a celebration of footy and a bit of fun as well.
But that bit of rivalry doesn't hurt, I think.
