Yeah, look, from the discussions we've had with Swanee about it, I think he's been quite open with clubs about what he's thinking about and just making it a fairer price for matching at the start.
The top end of the draft, if you're getting...
a really high-end selection, you need to be paying fair price.
And if that's just using two picks, it means they need to be high picks.
You can trade around and you can get those picks and you can sort that out, but you pay a decent price for them.
That should be the logic of what they're doing.
And I think it makes better sense.
It doesn't go as far as what we would have liked.
in terms of being more uncompromised as a draft, but it will make clubs think twice about whether they match, and it won't be as simple as bundling up a whole lot of picks post pick 40 just to get a number one player.
I think so.
I mean, and it is very much an equity fight.
I mean, if you look at how well the drafts
And equalisation worked in the early days as we moved away from the old zone-based system that just had power clubs with a whole lot of other clubs struggling to make it.
It did make a really big impact, those reforms, for equalising and giving people a chance to win a flag.
And I think then we've drifted away from that.
The principles of that got eroded with compromise on compromise and now we're getting back to a stage where, OK, let's...
let's try to fix a bit of that, but it's still not perfect.
And there's still compromises, but it's going to be better than it has been.
Yeah, look, we've got a handful of players that, you know, we'll be coming up at some point.
