I'm Cassie McCullough and I'm here with Kate Evans and a fine selection of readers and reviewers just for you.
And Sean Crowe, who recently finished his doctorate in political science at the Australian National University, is with us as well.
His first book is out later this year.
It's called Whitlam's Children, Labor and the Greens in Australia.
He joins us from Canberra.
Hi, Sean.
G'day.
Thanks for having me.
And Sandra Lee Price, what have you been reading lately?
personalities he has written about and and revisiting and it's really amazing and beautiful and exquisite so do read it it's beautiful i'm always surprised by how well biography does in australia because it's not a genre i'm particularly drawn to or have much experience of maybe if i had read more i'd be more into it why do you think people are so fascinated with the lives of others
Yes.
Okay.
So four volumes so far on LBJ.
Cassie, I didn't actually ask you what you'd been reading.
Well, Kate, actually, I have been doing some homework.
You'll be proud of me because, as you know, the Sydney Writers Festival is upon us in just two weeks' time and our guest on stage is going to be Jennifer Egan who wrote Manhattan Beach.
It is amazing.
It is.
Yeah, well, I can see why everyone's gone crazy about this book and why it's won so many prizes.
I'm super excited about that.
