So he has to pick a side, both for his personal ambition, for the good of his party as a government in waiting, but for also the well-being of his party as a national party that has a strong base of support in Alberta.
And if I may say, yes, at this point, Mark Carney's liberals are looking good in the polls.
But the last time I really saw that was when Paul Martin was still in the honeymoon phase of his leadership.
And those numbers do tend to evaporate over time.
So if I were Mr. Carney...
I would not think that I can trade Ontario or BC votes or Quebec votes for Alberta votes.
That would be like pursuing a balloon way up in the sky when you've got the football in your hand.
