Well, originally the Allagash water system, which is now a national park system,
was originally part of the logging industry.
Prior to logging trucks going out into the forest, you sent teams out in the forest.
They would cut the trees, put them on the lake, float them, and they were moved down the Allagash River all the way to Fort Kent and the village of Allagash.
And then that was where they would get out on the St.
Lawrence, is it there?
Or St.
Francis?

That separates Canada from the U.S.
And they would run the logs down there.
We ran in on our very last day of our canoe trip.
