It's a two way street, this mentorship, if you think about it, because if you said to George Carlin, hey, man, how about it?

And he went, hey, there's something here.

If he crumpled it up and wiped his ass with it and threw it at him and said, look, I'm a pro and I'm telling you now, don't waste your time.

Well, in a way, that could be worse than the – I mean is worse than positive but would be worse than anything that could happen.

Like that could stymie a career.

You could destroy a career.

That's a story in my stand-up special is Jim Henson of the Muppets did that to me.

I auditioned for Jim Henson.

He tried to buy all my pitches for what could be in this show and they said –

That they didn't want me on the show.

They just want me as a writer because he thought I lacked warmth.

And it devastated me.

It might have been why I didn't do comedy for 22 years.

Because I thought, this is Kermit the Frog.

I mean, this is a guy who can take ping pong balls and make it the warmest character in the world.

And he's telling me I lack warmth.

Although I kind of don't believe it.

I just don't believe that the casting director didn't just say it.

I can't believe that he said it.

I think that it must have been a casting director.
