You spend the rest of your life trying to heal, trying to figure out how to make a living or turn this pain into laughter.
And then at the end of his life, he decided to โ
not worry about his career and be more of a mentor and just be there for everybody when they needed help and advice.
And in a way, I think that's everybody's life.
We're just trying to figure out how to survive and hopefully evolve in a positive way.
Well, Gary, I guess he lost his brother when he was young.
Yeah, his brother had cystic fibrosis.
So when Gary was 10, his brother was 13, died.
And when you see the video of it, you realize, I've never seen Gary look this happy when his brother was alive.
He just seems like a really sweet, peaceful kid.
And back then, I think a lot of people, you know, when a child would die, the family didn't talk about it.
So I think what happened was...
His parents just soldiered on and they never talked about it.
So you had this little kid who no one told him how to grieve.
No one told him how to get over it.
And I think it led to him becoming a very sensitive, nervous person.
And also it led to him spending a lot of time alone because I think the family โ
became somewhat obsessed with him.
He was the surviving kid.
So how he dealt with it was going in his room, going on his ham radio, talking to people from around the world and getting into comedy.
