First of all, let's rewind the clock a year.

When President Trump was gearing up to win last November, a lot of us, including our mutual and good friend Russ Vogt over at OMB and others, were planning how this year would unfold.

We rightly predicted Democrats would want to try to make a political shutdown occur this fall.

So that was a big part of what we were doing in the big, beautiful bill, which you and I both said, hey, it could be better here, it could be better there.

But we delivered and we worked together with the president to deliver what I think is a bill that set the stage for this because we have $150 billion in there for defense.

So we could use that and use other money that Russ and his team are doing right now to move money around to be able to pay troops, right?

So now we've got a situation where we're ahead of the curve.

We're doing the work the American people sent us to D.C.

to do.

But Schumer and the Democrats, Hakeem Jeffries, are shutting the government down for purely 100%.

political purposes because they have nothing else to run on.

President Trump is leading, going around the world, kicking butt, you know, doing great things overseas.
