Talk a little more serious stuff here.
You have been looking into... We've all been looking into challenge stuff and seeing what we can learn about it and things like that.
And I was having an interesting conversation at the ballpark last night with Caleb Joseph and a couple other people about, you know, are we going to be able to see, hey, not only does this guy not have good...
ball strike, you know, good swing decisions at the top of the zone and doesn't handle pitches at the top of the zone well, but they're also bad at challenges at the top of the zone.
So maybe we can conclude that this guy is not good at the top of the zone.
For example, you have looked more on the catcher side.
Sorry, go ahead.
You have looked more on the catcher side and the relationship between where is a catcher good at challenging and where is a catcher good at framing.
And you might think that those things go together, but maybe paradoxically you have found that they have not.
How did you kind of dig in on that and what did you come away with thinking about?
I have two takeaways on this.
And one is that it almost sounds like catcher framing tricks, the catcher as well.
Like if you frame well here, you trick yourself into not knowing if it's a ball or strike.
The other thing is challenging in the area, challenging and losing in the areas that you're a good framer is, and this would be too many layers of like trying to turn the math into psychology, but like,
I would wonder, like, does it tip off an umpire?
Like, I don't actually have the edge here as well as you think I do.
And then maybe you lose the benefit of the doubt with the umpire on the next one on the outside edge.
