And back in the day, you guys, you guys probably too young for this, but, and it might surprise you, but back in the day, we'd go to the morning skate and you'd line the cameras up on the visiting bench.
or the opposite bench of the team that was skating, and you called players over to do interviews.
And I remember the Canucks coming into Edmonton, and, you know, it's Gretzky, it's Meschi, it's the high-flying Oilers.
And, oh, by the way, John Garrett's starting, and the last time he had played in that building, he'd given up 12 points.
And he is smiling and laughing as he's skating around in the morning skate.
And here's a goalie that we call over to do an interview with.
And I remember doing the interview thinking, wow, what a great guy.
Everything you'd heard about him was true.
And it actually crossed my mind that he's probably going to be in the business one day.
Uh, but he was so, you know, um, friendly self-effacing and then, uh, and what's neat about the story.
And I had to, I had to check it today to just confirm my memory, but, uh,
He beat the Edmonton Oilers that night in Edmonton 3-1.
Wherever it was and with whoever, you know, I know fellow NHL guys, you know,
you know, I, Joel Quenville today, I, you know, they were teammates and, and I know Cheech,
was such a great teammate.
He was loved by anybody he played with.
How about the list of guys he played with, too?
It's just, you know, I did the full hockey DB today.
