Well, I'm with you.

I mean, I just think something like that is unfortunate.

I don't really have any blame to point around.

I mean, clearly in the same spot with the same information as Frank had.

I would have run with it myself.

And obviously the Oilers...

in conducting the business the way they are weren't intending for that to come out in that way, and I don't think the Golden Knights wanted that to happen.

So it is some part of living life in the public eye, which is what coaches have to do, GMs, players, people who work in these high-profile jobs that most of the average shows out there would love to be doing themselves.

I mean, there's a cost to it, and there's some challenges that come with it, and I'm with you.

I think it's too bad the way it happened, but...

I guess the old saying is that's what the money's for.

There's some rewards, too, that come with doing this line of work.

Yeah, and I think Chris would be the last one who was surprised by any of this.

I mean, it was a tough season, right?

A lot of things didn't go as anyone with the Oilers expected this year.

They didn't, in a regular season, play up to the standard that they wanted to, and obviously the playoffs ended much quicker than anyone was accustomed to.

And when you work for a team that's all in to win, there's a price to be paid when you fall short.

And it kind of reminds me of a couple years ago in Toronto, Sheldon Keefe,

was in the same position as Chris Knobloch in that he had a contract extension that he had to kick in.

The Leafs fired him.
