Ultimately what the Leafs view this as though it's not so much just about getting rid of Matthew Nyes.

It's about you know adding you know a player that they feel is good is gonna be better.

And you know, obviously sometimes in trades you gotta trade good players uh to to to get back a a good player.

And and you know, I think one of the concerns with Nice maybe is that he wasn't uh a play driver in certainly the same way it looks like Marchenko is.

Uh Marchenko brings a little bit more speed.

And, you know, this could be one of these ones we look back on with time because both guys are relatively young.

Um, you know, we'll we'll have to kinda in terms of grading it, I think you have to see over time, but but you know, in the here and now the Leafs think they got better um, you know, by by making this deal that Marchenko is gonna give them more on that top line, as I mentioned, likely to pair with with Matthews and and you know, bring a different element than they would have uh with Matthew Night.

Obviously Matthew Nice, like Austin Matthews, is from Arizona.

The Leafs were down there, you know, as we know at the end of last week.

I mean, to to see a trade of this magnitude go down the night before the the regular season isn't something that that happens every year.

But um you know, to the extent that that Austin is familiar with Marchenko's game, I think that th that it it makes a lot of sense that they you know could have uh you know have some
