So that's been the issue is how did some of England's best players just, just, just start to dominate the game a little bit more and start to go, okay.
It doesn't have to always be a big play to get into the 22 because that's what the numbers say.
It can be an attack on halfway because the scrum half and both wingers and the fullbacks in the backfield.
So let's attack.
A bit like Ireland did at Twickenham, like Jamison Gibson-Park with a quick tap.
don't see that much these days but he did it they got the ball to balakun in his own half he's away down the right hand side scotland too so that's what i think people want to see from england yes both has a style and a way of playing and he's got the the numbers to back it up but this is test rugby it doesn't always get a plan everyone's got a plan until you stop winning aerial balls and you're 20 points down at murrayfield and then how do you react how do you play what's in front of you a little bit more so i think what people want to see from the england team is that fight
them to show they're playing for each other and crucially for their coach and their management.
But also, are they empowered if there is an opportunity that is perhaps a little bit off script to go for it?
Because you can't really see them beating France in an arm wrestle, can you?
Yeah, and it's not for us to do that, is it?
Absolutely.
And I think, yeah, without getting into the detail and trying to second guess what he's going through, and we know he's going through a lot, I just think he probably, by the exchange with Smith, just showing he's on a bit of extra pressure, a bit of extra stress.
At the time I was in commentary with Matt Dawson, I'm not going to be a revisionist and say, oh, look at that, that's a sign of cracks in the group.
We said, that's good, that's good leadership.
We didn't quite know the extent of the exchange.
We thought it was more a case of,
Three points, Finn.
We're not doing what you say.
But again, half the time we say this England team, it's a bit too nice.
They're not challenging each other.
