Chauncey was one of the first guys that I ever remember who used to extend the ball on a drive.
But what's funny back then is that if you didn't foul him, he would throw the ball over the goal.
Yeah, he didn't know how to finish unless you fouled him.
So then when James Harden started doing it and all these players, that is a real skill.
You won't just find a guy who can go in the gym and do a hard move and extend the ball and be able to pull it back in and score.
Exactly, exactly.
Well, it's part of the game.
It's a part of being smart.
So when you drive, when I was growing up, you was taught to sort of like tuck the ball, right?
You sort of like you're coming through on a handoff, right?
You get the ball, then you bring it back out to lay it up.
But this right here now where guys extend the ball is just a part of the game.

So you draw more fouls so that you catch guys trying to make plays.
It's just part of it.
That's what happens.
I told you guys, I've been on a competition committee for like 17, 18 years.
Rules change or whatnot, but you got the smartest players in the world.
You're always going to find somewhat of a workaround.
