I feel like they would have put it in there before the 1790s. Because if the whole thing is that masonry is a direct successor to the Templars, and that's something the Templars uncovered in the Temple of Solomon... There's a discussion to be had.

In my opinion, it's more likely that as we see from the late 18th and much of the 19th century, you had a bunch of people who archaeology and history were just becoming a thing. Which is nuts that those disciplines are that new. Yeah. Oh, up until like the 1820s, history was a hobby for the rich.

It was like you read Tacitus, you read Xenophon, you read Caesar, and you wrote your opinion about what they did. You didn't really question it. There wasn't a ton of historiography. There wasn't a ton of that going on. Historiography, historicism, these various schools of thought that are more academic, more scientific, those start to develop in the 1820s. So, in my opinion...

Like Jah coming from Jehovah, Bu coming from Baal, and I forget what, I think Lan coming from Elyon. Not having any experience with the degree process itself... That seems like the same thing as Ignatius Donnelly writing about Atlantis. Like, you know, oh, I came across these things and had these thoughts, and I'm going to claim it comes from ancient esoteric Templar knowledge.

You read the original Masonic documents, like the Regius poem, there's no mention of Jobulon. It's explicitly Christian. My hope would be if there is something weird going on with Freemasonry that, you know, there would be an opportunity to return it to its proper roots that aren't weird. I'm not going to lie.

Yeah. Yeah. I like Freemasonry because it's a charitable organization that connects men within their communities and encourages them to be more morally upright and to contribute to their communities. I'm not... I didn't join for weird cult stuff.

So, I mean, I've seen none of it. I've had a couple of weird conversations with Masons who do... believe some strange things, but it's hard to say what is their belief versus what is Masonic, uh, doctrine.
