You see it in housing.
You see it in climate policy.
You see it in federal-state relations.
You see it in our tobacco taxing.
You see it in our gas taxing.
You see it in the NDIS.
You see it in the deal, the sweetheart deal that gives West Australia extra money, even though it's got money coming out of its ears.
I would say, and again, I was happy enough with the capital gains tax changes, but I would say it's not about tax.
It is about our stupid regulations.
And I was part of that reform roundtable here in Canberra last August.
One of its key recommendations was just stop adding things to the National Construction Code.
those regulations.
And if you are in a nation where one of the key recommendations is just stop, it helps you show the stupidity of what we have done.
I described it earlier as for decades, Australia's housing policy has been the word no.
No, you can't do that.
We have to make it yes.
And that is incredibly urgent because even if we have perfect policies, you know, federal, state, local council, even if we have older, richest Australians saying, all right, okay, I get it.
I've got to change my mind.
I've got to be willing for this to happen.
