And they are named executive summaries because executives of companies are incredibly busy people.
And at the time, of course, Elon Musk works far more than most other people do.
He has many different interests and many different businesses juggling an awful lot of stuff.
But
It does seem to maybe stretch the credibility a little bit to say that actually, if you're doing something as consequential as this, and particularly something that you've already had your backup about, that you wouldn't pour over that document in detail.
Yeah, well, this case comes down to, and I've seen contemporaneous reporting from various websites.
There's a tech website called The Verge, which in advance of the trial called this a very expensive way for Elon Musk to try and get therapy.
He is the world's richest man.
He has...
this bee in his bonnet about open AI and the way in which he felt it was snatched away from him.
In terms of fairness, I think that he absolutely thinks that it is unfair.
In terms of whether it's actually a valid legal case, well, even the experts seem to think that there's not an awful lot there to stand on.
But...
I do think that Musk also has a point about fairness the other way.
And very rarely will you hear me say that I agree with Elon Musk.
But having spoken to legal experts on my own reporting, there is a broader consequence to this than just two billionaires fighting it out in a court for who gets to seem like they are the better person.
There is a real risk here that as well as that idea that Elon Musk was
done over effectively when he left and then tried to kind of bring back this case and basically pulled a fast one, it seems, on Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and OpenAI.
There is the opposing argument that Elon Musk makes, which is it's not right that you can set up a company or an organisation at the time effectively saying we are going to be a charitable endeavour and solicit donations.
Then once you've got all that money in, you start to change the purpose of that organisation and you maybe use that to pursue a profit while maybe not paying out your original funders.
