Because it is dangerous because the most talented filmmakers in the room were thinking, how do we tell that story without it being so awkward, without upsetting people?

You had to ignore those things, basically.
So he didn't have any luck to begin with.
But eventually Lionsgate decided we'll foot the bill for this thing, but we need an international distributor.
They collaborated then with Universal in getting this project off the ground.
And there were a team there, a big team at the Jackson estate, the Michael Jackson estate, who believed that this thing could work.
And off they went to try and get it made.
Yeah, I mean, look, if I can put some perspective on it, 150 million is potentially 50 to 100 million less than what you'd pay for a superhero film.
So you're thinking to yourself, where is all that money going?
Are there going to be some special effects in this film?
There are, obviously, because again, you're reconstructing these
huge concerts, in one case, a concert at Wembley in 1988.
So that's where all the money is going into, to making it look the part.
And I will admit there are times when it does look the part.
So in places, in very few places, that money's been well spent.
It was $150 million at the beginning, but...
They needed more.
