What you're supposed to do is conduct a pat-down, go through the whole process, put your handcuffs on the person, and then transfer him to the car. I didn't want to offend the FTO by making it seem like I didn't trust his pat-down. So I put my cuffs on the guy. I take the guy, and I'm getting ready to put him in my car, and the ambulance lady says, he can't go straight to jail.

I recuff him, bring him to the jail, CCDC, the detention center, county detention center. I get him inside. Before we get there, the guy said, he was John Doe at that point. So if a person doesn't tell us their name, we book him as John Doe. The dude says to me, he goes, you know what, man, you've been cool to me. I'm going to tell you my name. He tells me his name.
