But again, right, this is not about showing your birth certificate.

So the point is, is that there's a there's a path here to pass sort of pragmatic, reasonable reforms that both.

create more conveniences to voting.

And I know some philosophically think, you shouldn't make voting convenient, right?

But hey, we live in a very, very large and diverse country.

And I promise you, if you made everybody vote on the same day, it would take even longer for election days to finish.

It would take even longer to count our votes, and there would be a lot more distrust to it.

So

There is a path to do some common sense reforms.

If Republicans really cared about voter ID as much as they say it, they'd do it as a standalone vote.

And if Democrats cared enough just simply about allowing for more access to voting so that there's more opportunity for vote by mail and more opportunity for early voting, they'd have made it standalone.

but they didn't make it right.

Neither side made it standalone.

They, the poison pills that were involved in either the save act or the HR one were features, not books.

And yes, you can jam it through in the house because the house is always the most partisan side for either party.

Uh, and it is the Senate where you have a harder time doing this, but if you did this piecemeal, you'd have a better idea.
