My Brian and I have been together for almost two years.

He's 31 and I'm 28.

I truly believed we were heading in the direction towards engagement this fall winter.

We had talked about marriage, kids, our future, and even went ring shopping.

It wasn't like I randomly invented the idea out of nowhere.

Okay, so like they've been chatting about it.

We're getting serious ring shopping.

Because we've spoken of it in the past, I got emotionally attached to the timeline.

Specifically, I got attached to the idea of a fall proposal.
