appreciate that appreciate the truck that you drive because i also have a slow 73 that is extremely slow right now because it's in the middle new engine right now turns out oh everybody news turns out it wasn't my fault turns out the previous owner completely redid the engine improperly used way too much gasket seal it didn't let it uh uh cure and then a totally

ton of gas concealant that bulged out on the inside of the engine at the seals ripped off and got so caught up in the oil cooler that oil was not circulating through that engine, causing it to overheat and then become the problem that it did. So... your boy wasn't a total idiot with his truck. Just so happens there was a problem with it that was not diagnosable upon purchase.

But now getting essentially a brand new engine as a result, no questions about what's going on there, thankfully. And I've met some amazing guys at a local shop. DeMarco, they've done a great job so far, throwing on a turbo to provide a little cushion as well and provide me more information. One of the gauges I now have is a oil temperature gauge.
