On the afternoon of October 23, 2022, Jessica was leaving her work when she suddenly saw Joseph in the parking lot, and the look on his face was terrifying. He quickly approached her, demanding they talk over lunch, but Jessica refused. Once in his car, Joseph pulled out his small black handgun and pressed it up against her. He then told her that he was going to kill her if she didn't do what he said. But at that moment, Jessica knew that she needed to get out of there. She knew what he was capable of, so she attempted to flee the vehicle.

And sadly, this wasn't the first time they had done this. Her family had filed separate protective orders against Joseph in the past, specifically for his violent behavior and threats.

But on this one, Jessica wrote on the report, I was planning on going home and he didn't let me. While being pregnant with my first child, he would hit me. Really controlling, harassing all the time. I had to listen to him or he'll hit. Wouldn't let me see my family. Her father Jesus was also a part of this report.
