And the six of us created the success to become the biggest band in the world.

And then all of a sudden we were not.

I think that at that particular time, I felt for Justin Bieber because everyone seemed to be slamming him for his behaviour.

And everyone seemed to be negating or minimizing his talent.

What I felt that I wanted to express to him or to anybody for that matter, but at that particular time, he was just the guy that was kind of seemed to be getting hammered by everybody, that the thing that will never leave you is your talent, is your ability to do the work.

the phrase that I always come back to, which I firmly believe in, is that if all else fails, you know, creativity can always be a salvation.

People can't take that from you.

Yeah, absolutely.

And I think that, you know, a deep state of melancholia is my natural state in some ways.

I don't know why that is, but it seems to be the case.

I wouldn't consider myself to be a depressive person because if it's going to go that way, I seem to be able to nip it in the bud by different techniques and so forth, you know.

At that particular time in Overkill, it was a time in my life where I knew that nothing was going to be the same.

So you're diving into this pool of everything is unknown, this huge thing of success, which was opening up and was going to happen.

We all knew it was going to happen.

And so you go, well, do I want to take that leap?

And so you take it.

And amongst all that were the, you know, when I talk about the ghosts and there was a darkness creeping into my own life, which had to do with alcoholism, which I knew was there.

And I knew before anyone that I was going to have to deal with this at some point.

And it was deeply disturbing.
