Someone else will come along and knock on my door and offer me something fabulous.
But they didn't.
So I was kind of freshly sober and I was, you know, I realised that if anything was going to happen in my life, I had to make it happen.
So I'd probably leave the house, you know, and go and create the rest of my life, you know, as opposed to just try and
you know, get back to the, you know, kind of those lofty peaks of superstardom, you know.
So this was just a song that seemed to sum up that time for me.

Lots of different people from the age of nine to 70, all different kinds of people.
You know, I was traveling along and I always played at Largo in Hollywood for Flanagan, my friend, who's the Irish Flanagan, who
who has this club in Hollywood called Largo.
So it's a great place to play.
I've been playing there for 25 years or something.
Scrubs was a big thing because when I was on Scrubs, that was a younger audience.
Zach Braff and Bill Lawrence, the guy who...
creator of the show came to see me play and so they they kind of liked my songs and they saw you know they were a bit annoyed that you know you could you wouldn't hear these songs on the radio you know so they go we're going to use a bunch of songs in the television show see if it makes a difference so they did that and so I picked up a whole new a generation a different generation of people of fans.
Well, when you go out and play live, you're really reproducing something you've already created.
So by definition, it's kind of, to me, is not quite as exciting as the first time you come up with something.
you get that, oh, this is cool, this is great, you know, and so you're following it and you finish it and you kind of polish it, you know, here's my little thing that I got, you know, put it out there.
