ask the people around you if you say, can you guys come a little bit closer to hear me?
They come closer and then what happens is that people from far away, they can't see what the people are looking at because it's blocked by the crowd that you've had gathered around you.
All they see is a crowd of people intensely looking at something and so they think, man, something awesome must be happening over there.
Let's go check it out too.
And so before you know it, you've got a larger audience than anybody in the park.
Yeah, sure.
I mean, I play mostly classical music, which is fairly serious stuff, and I found that a little comic relief, usually I'll say something funny about the composer or about myself or something like this.
I'll say something like...
Ladies and gentlemen, please feel free to drop a donation in the bucket.
This is what I do for a living.
Yes, my parents are very proud of me.
There are a few other things that I say.
Some of it I came up with.
Another thing that you can do is you can ask people to make a lot of noise to help gather an audience.
Even if you only have five people listening to you, you can say, all right, everybody, I'm going to count to three, and you guys make a lot of noise.
And last week I said, okay, listen, folks, I'm going to do something really awesome here, and I need you to make a lot of noise as if your apartment is on fire, and this awesome thing that I'm about to do is going to come to your rescue and save you and all of your Apple products.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because then again, people from, you know, a hundred yards away will hear the people clapping and making noise and they think, Oh, something awesome must be happening over there.
Which again, I think is something that your listeners, you know, when people are making noise, whether it's in real life or on the internet, you know, Oh my gosh, this is amazing.
