And I kind of got myself into a little bit of trouble because if you guys don't know, there's kind of two.
I don't chat.
I don't know how deep you want me to go into all this.
Because the story is kind of fun, kind of funny.
But there's two different ways to make holsters.
You have vacuum forming, which is basically what all of the big companies use.
Some of the bigger companies use injection molding, like Alien Gear uses injection molding.
I believe Blade Tech does injection molding for their stuff.
But like...
the more like middle of the line industry holster manufacturers, they vacuum form everything.
Um, that's one way to do it.
And then the second way to do it is foam pressing.
So you would literally take, uh, one inch thick pieces of foam and you would heat up your Kydex.
It comes in a 12 by 12 sheet.
And if you don't know, Kydex is a thermoplastic.
So when you heat it to a certain temperature, then it's malleable and you can form it to whatever shape that you, um,
compress against it.
And so with foam pressing, you take two one-inch pieces of foam and you build up the mold and you apply pressure to the mold by wrapping the kydex around the mold.
That's why it's called a taco style because it folds like a taco.
And then you apply pressure to the foam on either side, give it like 15 minutes to cool, and then Bob's your uncle, you got a holster, if you manage to do it right.
