But the poets themselves were always fascinating to see.

Which really was put in place when they were very young
But I mean, I remember seeing John, well, what's quite important actually are the author photographs.
And there was a man called Jerry Bauer who would touch up the photograph.
He would come to Dublin, take photographs, touch them up so they look great on jackets.
Other photographers wouldn't do that.
But I remember really, really studying John Banville's photographs when he was young, his first books, just looking at his hair and his skin and his eyes.
And really, really looking at those photographs.
Which I think probably readers do sometimes.
And then seeing him, you know.
And John Bannerman was always beautifully dressed.
Really beautifully dressed.
Yeah, you think about it.
It's a sign of awkwardness.
