Well, I think they could go to the cinema, that's absolutely, but I think the temptation to go to the phone as the means of distraction is always first port of call, you know.
Well, they reckon that your concentration peaks for 17 minutes and then starts to deteriorate after that.
Yeah, that's where you can get you.
But after that, I remember having this argument with the lecturer who used to run two hour lectures that we after 17 minutes, our concentration is going.
So but a break can really replenish that.
Even if it's five minutes, even if it's just coming downstairs, even if it is just making a tea, there's an opportunity for a reset in that.
And some people cram brilliantly.
The way in which they can retain short-term information and do it night before, go in and sit that exam.
If you ask them the following day anything on it, it's gone.
They can just projectile out the information for you the next day.
Some people have that aptitude.
Other people are much more slow burners.
And so they'll need to chip away at material and read it over and over and over again.
They may retain it for better as well.
So again, doing exam papers is good prep because it gets you into the process of cognitive recall.
And I always say to young people when they're panicking about...
they're sitting down they go blank you know they can't find they know the information's there but they can't find it it's like when you're searching for a document on your pc when you're in a hurry and you put in a word and it doesn't come up and you're going oh my god it's deleted and someone says to you what else could it be saved under yes and you try another word and there it is the reason laughing so heartily is i was there a couple of days ago
