So it's just being conscious of your approach and adjusting your expectations at this point.
I mean, there's definitely benefit.
Like stress and anxiety takes energy.
Like you're burning up energy resources as you're stressed.
So if you can do something that allows you not to feel stressed, you're replenishing some of those reserves.
Again, going back to my own childhood, I can still see my sister.
She used to go out and listen to the chart show on whatever radio station it was on in my dad's car.
She'd listen to it on the car radio.
And my mother going mad, going, she's an exam tomorrow and there she's out listening to chart music or whatever it is.
But that was her way of preparing.
The distraction is different now.
Doom scrolling is not a relaxing thing if you're going down these things.
And so what's vying for attention is oftentimes extremist content or provoking content or stimulating content that oftentimes
People don't tend to come away from scrolling on phones or whatever it is saying, I feel so much better now.
So again, not all distractions are equal, but watching a movie or going to the cinema like you were suggested to do could be really helpful in terms of resetting the nervous system a little bit.
I'm just not so sure that young people have that accessibility or that opportunity to do that quite so much now.
