So I knew of my skillset as well from a business development perspective that it's valuable for a business to have somebody that's able to generate high value leads consistently.
So I knew if I could get in front of a CEO just about anywhere, their main problem was going to be growth traditionally.
And I kind of had a solution to that for the most part.
So I knew I could kind of get a job
In most places, essentially.
So I found a company called Gamma Location Intelligence based in Christchurch at the time.
And they were the only really people in Ireland working in location intelligence.
What's location intelligence?
What does that mean?
It's kind of like almost working out the geospatial kind of side of why stuff happens.
So they would have been doing a lot of work with government at the time in regards to where should we put roads and why.
where should we invest our money and infrastructure in Hawaii?
And, like, going down, taking it to... We would have worked with a lot of, like...
big box retailers remember harvey norman was one at the time where you're looking at where they should put their next location and why right okay okay that's interesting so they'll and what is that is that demographics demographics footfall average spend getting as many data sets as you can possibly get down to putting people on the street in regards to like clicking the amount of people that walk past yes i was wondering do people do that so that's actually a thing that's a thing yeah
Now with CCTV and being able to access more stuff, a lot of shopping centers will have that kind of software in built in.
So they'll know how many people.
Down to being able to access satellite imagery to be able to see how many cars are in a Tesco car park that day.
be able to work out exactly what's kind of happening from a people movement perspective and how they spend their money perspective essentially um and i got to work on some really interesting stuff in gamma like they would have been doing some of the nama work at the time they would have they were actually a business that built air code oh wow yeah and launched air code which at the time people hated but looking back on it now i think it was a pretty savvy investment from from the government in regards to
speed of service in regards to the emergency services, in regards to the amount of stuff we're getting sent to us on a daily basis.
Different ball game altogether.
