So what's going to happen when the hedging ends for that airline and for all other airlines?
And inevitably what's going to happen is prices are going to go up, but maybe not by as much as people think.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think you wouldn't want to overstate the risks of it happening in the short term.
Because, like, obviously, alarmist stories make for sexy headlines.
But that doesn't mean those alarmist stories are going to come to pass.
Yeah.
Well, the very unhelpful answer to that question is it depends.
So...
like the very basic travel insurance policies won't cover travel disruption.
And by travel disruption, I mean an Icelandic volcano erupts or a war breaks out in a particular jurisdiction or there's an earthquake or whatever it might be.
So most standard travel insurance policies don't have travel disruption cover as part of them.
You would need to upgrade your policy to that.
That's not to say that the travel disruption element of an insurance policy will definitely cover you.
In the event of your airline carrying or cancelling, you know, your outward bound flight or your homeward bound flight.
But if you don't have it, there is no chance of you getting any cover for it.
If you do have it, I think it's important to talk to the travel insurance provider and say, what exactly does this travel disruption cover protect me from?
It may be that it covers the cancellation of an airline's outward bound leg as a result of jet fuel supply issues.
