Well, I mean, I think some of the terms and conditions of travel insurance policies can run to like 29,000 words, which is like nobody is going to read the terms and conditions.

It's horrendous.

But one of the things that you can do and a kind of handy trick is if you copy and paste,

the terms and conditions of a particular travel insurance document and paste it into Microsoft Word.

And you just go Control F and go for excluded, not covered.

And the keywords, because they're the only things you really care about.

One of the things that travel insurance companies do is they really boast about the 10 million euro in healthcare cover that they offer or all of this stuff.

All of that stuff is entirely nonsensical.

It looks good on the page and makes us feel slightly more comfortable.

Oh my God, I've got 10 million euros cover.

And

What you really want to work out is what is excluded, what's not covered and what kind of other exclusions apply.

So, for instance, like a lot of the time people don't realise if you have your passport stolen in your hotel room and your passport isn't in the safe, you mightn't be covered for that.

Because the travel insurance document will say the passport document or the essential documents or the money or the wallet or the phone or whatever has to be, you know, in the safe.

So a lot of people would just think, oh, well, it's on the bed, it's grand.

And then it's stolen and you go, oh, and they will go out of their way to not pay out.

I mean, they're not your friend.

They do offer you a safety net and it is really, really important to have travel insurance.
