It might.
But again, the key thing is to find out exactly what you're covered for.
Because some of them will offer cover that others don't.
Some of them will charge you more for cover in the event of certain things happening.
But if you pay it, well, then you have more protections.
It really does depend.
The one thing I would say is, and I think we might talk about it in a moment, is I think a lot of consumer groups in Europe now
are talking about the value and the benefits of booking your holiday with a tour operator as opposed to booking it DIY.
And there's a very simple reason for that.
It's because if you book a holiday with a tour operator, well, then a tour operator is entirely responsible for every element of your trip.
So if you've booked two weeks in Magaluf and your flight is cancelled and you can't get there for seven days, your tour operator has to refund you or give you an alternate holiday.
I can't stress enough how important it is to take out travel insurance, irrespective of how you've booked your holiday.
Because travel insurance is not just about travel.
A flight being cancelled.
Travel insurance covers you for falling ill, for being robbed on the streets of Torremolinos, for losing your passport.
All of these things are not covered by your tour operator.
Okay, fair.
So you need travel insurance for all of these different things.
And it is one of those things that you absolutely hope you'll never have to claim on.
But you might as well have that safety net.
