Every year carries out like a survey and an assessment of the best providers and the worst providers in the car hire industry.
And like the same companies come up again and again and again.
There's no point to me naming them.
But if you Google a particular company, if you found a car for hire on a website, you think, oh, they look good.
spend three minutes searching for the name of the company on Google and that will tell you what their reputation is.
Look for the terms and conditions.
Again, they're too long, they're impenetrable, but just at least scan them.
The fuel policies are key, obviously.
You want to go from full to full.
rather than from full to empty, because you're unlikely to get to the airport with the tank at exactly empty.
Don't fill up in the petrol station right beside the airport.
They always charge a premium.
So fill your car 10 kilometres away from the airport.
It might save you like five quid, but every little helps, as the saying goes.
The collection windows thing is really important, right?
Because people don't realise...
