And then always keep an eye on your bank statements or credit card bills after the fact because these charges could come down the tracks six, eight, ten weeks after the fact.

Oh, 100%.

But also a lot of the time there can be a dispute.

One of my colleagues here, he arrived at an airport last summer without a credit card.

He didn't have a credit card and he presented them with a debit card and they were like, no, don't take debit cards.

You need a credit card.

So he had then had to try and find another car hire company at the last minute and he ended up paying through the nose for it.

Some companies don't take debit cards.

Some companies will take debit cards, but they'll take an absolutely massive deposit off your debit card.

So if you've got like €3,000, which is a lot of money for your summer holidays budget, and they say, yeah, we're taking €1,500 of that as a deposit, it kind of ruins your holiday.

So that's one of the things going back to when I say check the terms and conditions, make sure that when you get there,

you'll be able to take away the car without it being a financially ruinous experience.

Interesting you should say that.

You always need insurance.

That's a really important point to make.

So you never rock up and say, oh, no, no, I don't need insurance.

You do need insurance.

Yes.

But when you get to the check-in desk in the airport in the south of Spain, they'll go, yeah, we don't care about that.
