It's not where it might have been.
So you might see better value for money when it comes to holidays in Ireland over the course of the summer than might otherwise have been the case because the expiry date in a hotel room is very, very fast.
So they can't sell yesterday's room tomorrow.
So if the room is empty, hotels are going to do whatever they can to sell it to maximise whatever money they can.
you might get better value for money for staycations this summer.
It's really too early to say and we still don't know exactly what impact the conflict is going to have in the longer term.
Do you know what?
It really depends.
I think one of my experiences of staycationing is in an Irish context,
You can't rely on the weather, right?
So you can't have a really cheap day out at the beach knowing it's going to be warm and sunny.
And if you're going to the beach in the south of Spain or the south of France, you just bring your picnic that you can buy for a tenner.
Your kids are entertained swimming and making sandcastles and burying their father up to his neck and all that stuff.
So it's really cheap.
In an Irish context, it's hard to keep people entertained and amused.
for that or using the free stuff.
Now, having said that, when the sun is shining in Ireland, there's no better place in the world.
Absolutely.
It doesn't always happen, sadly.
And as a result, we do have to sometimes look for more expensive ways to spend our money.
