Yep.
But boy, oh boy, did I get really good at backing up to a bulk bin and being in just the right spot to swing that auger out.
And for the longest time, we had one that was a manual swing.
So you wanted to make sure you got it right.
To get it to where it hit and go, my favorite ones was, you know, you've seen the outside pin hog feeders.
And you tilt that big lid back, and at least you have a bigger opening.
Oh, yeah.
As soon as we got to our gestation barn, it had larger bulk bins, and it seemed like the larger the bulk bin, the smaller the lid at the top got.
Yep.
So we got further into it and had more feed to grind.
We did end up getting one with hydraulic swing on the auger, which I don't know if it made it easier because I felt like you'd just go past the hole and then you'd come back to the hole and you'd go past the hole.
And so that was a game.
Did you have the handle on there?
Either we had the ones to where the handle was, you pulled down and then shoved it up, or you had the chain that was able to bounce back.
There's a lot of memories, and I still remember one Saturday morning
I swear that a lot of the jobs that I was given as a kid was to make it so I behaved.
If you had responsibility at 6 o'clock in the morning, you made choices to have your responsibility at 6 o'clock in the morning.
And I was throwing up.
I didn't even make it through two bags of pre-mix, trying to carry them out there, and I was hurling.
And I was like, oh, God, dang, he can't think I'm hungover.
